Ben Nowotny, Grade 12
Team Lead I am a Senior at Hortonville High School. This is my sixth season on the robotics team, and I look forward to helping lead the team and working on software for this year. I spent 2 years in FLL before this, and I still volunteer at FLL events as a referee. I enjoy working on math, robots, and software in my free time. Kung Lee, Grade 11
Software Team I am a Junior at Hortonville High School and this is my third year on the team as a software member. In addition to being my third year in FTC, this will also be my eight year in FIRST. Joining the robotics team helped me learn a lot about the world of software engineering and development. I plan to use these skills from high school and apply them to future plans of being an engineer. However, outside of being a robotics member, I am a trumpet player for the high school jazz band and an ambitious video gamer. Sarah Nowotny, Grade 10
Mechanical Team I am a Sophomore at Hortonville High School. This is my 7th year in FIRST, with previous involvement in FLL. I was in FLL for 5 years before joining this team. I am a Mechanical Team member for Hortonville Robotics this year. I am really enjoying the build process for the robot this year. I plan to study Biomedical Engineering. Outside of robotics, I am a member of Band, Ukulele Band, and DECA. My hobbies include cooking, dance, Tae Kwon Do, sewing, and Scouting. |
Grace Vanden Heuvel, Grade 10
Software Lead I am a sophomore at Hortonville High School and this is my second year on the robotics team. This is also my second year doing stuff with FIRST. I really look forward to learning alongside team members as well as building lasting friendships. Outside of robotics, I am involved in several technology-related activities and am a strong advocate for women in technology. I am proud to have an internship with a local organization, NEW IT Alliance. I play for two jazz bands, help out middle school and community music groups, and enjoy helping out the school’s IT department in my free time. My future ambitions are to be a software engineer at a prestigious school. Devyn Knecht, Grade 9
Mechanical Team I am a freshman and this is my first year with the robotics team. I did FLL for 3 years. When I grow up I want to be an engineer so FTC is a good opportunity for me to grow my skills. Outside of FTC, I play on the high school soccer team. |
Connor Hendrickon, Grade 11
Mechanical Team I am currently a junior at Hortonville High School. This is my first year in First Tech Challenge, but I participated in FLL for 2 years in middle school. I am a mechanical team member this year. I plan on pursuing aerospace or mechanical engineering as a future career. I have learned a lot about mechanical design and development during my time on the robotics team. Outside of school I ski and play bass guitar. Sam Mckee, Grade 10
Software Team I am a sophomore at Hortonville High School. This is my first season on the robotics team. I spent 1 year in FLL before this. I enjoy working on robots and software in my free time. Oliver Vanden Heuvel, Grade 7
Mechanical Team I am currently a 7th Grader at Hortonville Middle school. This is my first year in FIRST robotics. I like to build and fix stuff so robotics has been a great opportunity for me. In this experience, I have learned so much about robotics and mechanical things as well. I will be able to use these skills to prepare for the future. Outside of robotics, I’m a member of the Middle school Jazz Band. In my free time, I enjoy biking and outdoor activities. |
